Colleen’s Bio Colleen’s Speech

Colleen has distinguished herself in our profession and association. Colleen fell in love with business communications at a young age when her mom first took her to work at a local PR firm. Colleen’s passion grew at Michigan State University, where she earned a bachelor’s in communications and a master’s in advertising.

Today, Colleen has worked as an integrated marketing communications professional for 25 years, while raising two handsome and talented young men. She has proven success in aligning integrated communications with business goals, mastering critical thinking skills and perfecting project management skills.

She is a highly respected strategic leader who is a model of professionalism and integrity. She has dedicated herself to the highest moral principles and ethical business practices. Colleagues often describe her as “outgoing . . . friendly . . . confident . . . supportive . . . encouraging” . . . and this unique phrase: “a creative . . . alignment . . . architect.” There is no doubt why she was consistently promoted for exceptional performance and leadership throughout her career.

Colleen has succeeded in integrated marketing communication positions at Nederman, Hewlett-Packard, EDS, Meritor and now with CareTech Solutions.

At CareTech — a health information technology services company — she leads the company’s marketing and corporate communications, brand awareness, lead generation and thought leadership initiatives. She continues to excel in developing client relationships, growth, reputation, productivity, quality and crisis communications.

Colleen demonstrated these qualities and more during her presidency of IABC Detroit during the 2000-2001 term. She has been a valued member since 1992 and has served in various board leadership positions over the years, as well as executive director on the International Board of Directors in 2002-2003. She has given countless hours of guidance, talent and passion to our chapter, mentoring many others along the way.
