The Michigan Humane Society is hiring a Director of Marketing and Communications with at least 10 years of public relations, marketing and communications experience and five years of management and supervisory experience. She/he will develop and direct all facets of the organization’s marketing and communication programs to build and strengthen MHS’ role and reputation as a leader and authoritative voice in its field.
|· Develop and implement a marketing and communications strategy that includes goals, objectives and specific activities to be pursued in each area of responsibility.|
|· Develop a public relations strategy that addresses leadership team issues, media relations, internal audiences, thought leadership and crisis communications.|
|· Build a high-performance marketing and communications team; establish overall objectives and priorities for the department’s direction.|
|· Consider and analyze the implications of proposed actions and decisions on the brand, image and reputation of the organization.
· Steward all facets of MHS’s organizational branding effort from the RFP process to the brand launch.
|· Work with a volunteer marketing and communications committee, which serves as a key resource to the department and organization.|
|· Manage the use of external resources as they relate to the marketing and communications function, e.g., advertising agency, printers, etc.|
|· Ensure close collaboration with the development and events teams to help achieve MHS’ resource development goals.|
|· Actively foster teamwork and collaboration throughout the organization to meet the communications and marketing needs of all departments.
· Develop and direct a sophisticated social media strategy
Salary: $80,000 to $90,000
