For communications professionals, this is the time of year where the work pace is even more accelerated to spend down budgets, make sure goals are met and gear up for the new year ahead. We invite you to take a break from the hectic happenings and put some jingle in your mingle at the annual IABC Detroit holiday party on Thursday, December 11 from 6 to 8 p.m., at Pitch Black Media in Pleasant Ridge.
We are halfway into the year at IABC Detroit. Our Board has worked diligently to bring you outstanding monthly professional development programs, listed 20 job postings through our job bank, held two informal networking meet-ups in Ann Arbor, welcomed new members and created new opportunities to get involved. I am also very proud of our Silver Quill winners and that Michigan represented the second largest group in attendance at the Heritage Region conference this past October.
And while the Michigan weather is turning cold, we are just warming up to more great things as a chapter for 2015. We are excited to be rolling out a new mentor/mentee program that will help our members share their expertise and encouragement with young communications professionals.
Planning for our 34th annual Renaissance Awards program is also underway. Make 2015 a renaissance year for your organization or clients and be sure to enter your creative, results-driven projects when our online entry process opens January 6.
On behalf of your Board, I want to thank you for your membership and our sponsors for their financial and in-kind support. We want IABC Detroit to continue to make a positive impact in your professional lives.
From IABC Detroit, we wish you and your family a healthy and happy holiday season. We look forward to seeing you at the Jingle Mingle and throughout our events in 2015.
