Marketing and Communications Manager

Job Summary:

                             Manages the implementation of all internal and external communications, promotions, new product/service communications, advertising, website development (intranet, extranet, social media), brand image and awareness, and all public and media relations for NorthStar Care Community.  

Essential Functions:

  1. Facilitates the management of a full-service communications, promotions, and marketing support team.
  2. Works with the Creative Director on design and production for print, video and web-based materials, such as brochures, flyers, advertisements, internet, intranet, event programs and video presentations, ensuring consistent quality and adherence to established NorthStar Care Community standards.
  3. Maintains inventory of printed materials; works closely with outside vendors to assure adequate supplies.
  4. Works with the Director of Marketing & Communications, Creative Director, grief services staff, development staff, and sales team to edit, design and produce external newsletters, collateral material, promotional announcements and event support materials for NorthStar Care Community programs. Also works with education staff, compliance staff and business office staff to edit and manage the design and updating of forms and supplementary education materials.
  5. Responsible for scheduling and coordination of media appearances, interacting with media partners and preparing colleagues for interviews with detailed logistics and talking points.

Qualifications:

  1. A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and three (3) or more years in media relations, promotions, advertising, communications or marketing required; five (5) years preferred. 
  2. Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, production methods, and coordination of people and resources required.
  3. Demonstrated ability to write and develop internal and external communications, advertising, brochures, web content and other sales/marketing materials.
  4. Strong writing skills required; professional public relations or journalism experience preferred.
  5. Experience with web-based communication and design required.
